A Blood‑Sugar‑Friendly Treat

Weekends are full of little temptations — bakery stops, ice cream runs, snacks that look cute on a counter. And while treats are part of life, the type of treat you choose can completely change how you feel.

This weekend, try a treat that’s rich, satisfying, and built to keep your blood sugar steady: Chocolate Dipped Almond Butter Treats. They taste like a grown‑up, metabolic‑friendly version of a Reese’s — but firmer, cleaner, and steadier.

Healthy fats. Protein. Fiber. Dark chocolate. No crash.

They live in your freezer, so they’re grab‑and‑go and perfect for August heat.

Chocolate Dipped Almond Butter Treats (Squares or Poppers)

(Makes approximately 12 squares or 18-24 poppers — depending on size)

Ingredients:

Base Layer
  • 1 cup almond butter (unsweetened, stirred)
  • ¼ cup coconut flour
  • 2 tbsp collagen or vanilla protein powder
  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or allulose (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
Chocolate Dip
  • ¾ to 1 cup dark chocolate chips (70–85%)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
Optional Toppings
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Crushed almonds
  • Toasted coconut

Instructions:

Make the Base

Mix almond butter, coconut flour, protein powder, vanilla, and salt. Add sweetener if desired. Stir until a thick dough forms.

Squares

Line an 8x4" loaf pan with parchment. Press mixture evenly. Freeze 20–30 minutes to firm.

Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil until smooth.

Remove slab from freezer, cut into squares, and dip each one halfway in chocolate. Freeze 5–10 minutes.

Add flaky salt or toppings before chocolate sets. Store in the freezer.

Poppers

Roll approximately a teaspoon of dough into bite‑size popper balls. Place onto a parchment lined sheet or pan. Freeze 15–20 minutes.

Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil until smooth.

Remove poppers from freezer and dip each one in chocolate. Freeze 5–10 minutes.

Add flaky salt or roll in chopped nuts or toasted coconut before chocolate sets. Store in the freezer.

Why This Treat Works

Healthy fats + protein + fiber = slower digestion, steadier blood sugar, calmer cravings. It satisfies without spiking.

This is a true blood‑sugar‑friendly treat — rich enough to satisfy, balanced enough to keep your weekend steady.
